Everyone knows that the greatest physical asset they can have is a bright, healthy smile. Stained, crooked, chipped, and broken teeth are liabilities on both the professional and social scene, and fortunately, dental technology has progressed to the extent where it’s not necessary to live with these conditions. At Bellbrook Family Dentistry, we believe that no one should be without the smile of their dreams. Here’s what we can do for you:
Tooth Whitening Procedures
One of the most common complaints we hear from our patients is that their teeth appear dingy, drab, and in some cases, show significant yellowing. Tobacco products, certain foods, and beverages such as coffee and red wine often take quite a toll on the surface of the teeth. We specialize in the Phillips Zoom® tooth whitening technology. This is far and away the best option for those seeking immediate results. For instance, if you’re about to start a round of professional job interviews, walk down the aisle to meet your beloved at the altar, or are just tired of seeing a dingy smile in the mirror every morning. Phillips Zoom® technology may be for you. Here’s how it works:
The Phillips Zoom® system works by using custom-fitted whitening trays that we produce right here in our office for you after taking impressions of your teeth. It only takes several days for us to make them, and then you can wear them in the privacy and comfort of your own home in order to achieve a bright, white smile. We provide detailed instructions of how to use them and carry refills of the gel designed to use with them.
Same Day Crowns
Traditional crown procedures generally require at least two consecutive visits to your dentist’s office, but same day crowns can be achieved with just one visit. You may have heard of this procedure by the name of “chairside crowns.” Computer aided technology has made it possible for you to leave your dentist’s office with a fully restored smile in just a matter of hours. There is no need for temporary crowns with this approach, and because same day crowns are fitted immediately, there is less risk of further damage to the tooth. Same day crowns involve the use of an oral camera that takes 3D images of the tooth, and a computer-aided manufacturing system creates the crown right here in our office.
However, we’ve found that traditional crowns may be a better option for some of our patients, so we still offer those as well. Patients with fractures situated below the gum line, for instance, are better served by traditional crowns because the camera can’t see below that area.
We offer orthodontics in Bellbrook OH for both teenagers and adults. Because we understand that adults may be reluctant to wear traditional braces, we provide the choice of clear aligners that are almost non-detectable to the naked eye. These can also be taken out during meals and for brushing and flossing.
Braces have benefits beyond the merely cosmetic, however. Misaligned and crooked teeth create bite issues that can negatively affect speech, the ability to chew your food, and even facial structure. Also, these conditions provide plenty of nooks and crannies that allow dental decay to flourish.
Unlike crowns that are designed to encase the entire tooth, veneers only cover the front surface. They’re less invasive than crowns, and the procedure leaves more of the original tooth tissue intact. State-of-the-art veneers don’t need nearly as much enamel removal as their traditional counterparts. Veneers in Bellbrook OH are a good option for those with teeth that are so severely stained that topical tooth whitening procedures aren’t viable options. They’re also commonly used to correct the appearance of teeth that are too small or too large, uneven spaces between teeth, teeth that are chipped or broken, or teeth that are misshapen.
Please don’t hesitate to contact Bellbrook Family Dentistry for a consultation if you have questions about how to get the absolute most of your smile. Also, keep in mind that preventive dentistry is an important part of maintaining a healthy, appealing smile. Even if you have no cosmetic dentistry issues at this time, we can help preserve that gorgeous smile of yours for years to come by providing dental checkups and cleanings on a regular basis.
